Hello
I'm Delores Miles
About Me
Hi, I am Delores Miles and I proofread transcripts for Court Reporters. I want to help you from being stressed and overwhelmed by proofreading your transcripts in PDF format and returning them back to you error free.
I realize this is not a 9-5 Monday through Friday job. I also understand that last-minute rushes do happen, and my well-trained “eagle eyes” will be needed at any time. I am available for you when you need me to be. I want to help you uphold your reputation that you have worked so hard to achieve in this industry.
My Knowledge and Training
I am a former Brown College of Court Reporting student that advanced to the 140wpm speed class but had to withdraw due to medical reasons. I have completed the rigorous course of Transcript Proofreading: Theory and Practice by Caitlin Pyle. I have also attended many, many seminars by Margie Wakeman Wells (Margie holds Court). From dashes, colons, verbals, plurals, possessives, clauses, periods, semicolons, and commas, I’ve just about had them all.
My reference books are:
I welcome the opportunity to be an integral member of your court reporting team so I can help support you by polishing your transcripts to ensure for accuracy and completeness.
Process
I proofread transcripts for Court Reporters using the iAnnotate software. Once I proofread your transcript for proficiency, I will return back to you a flawless, quality, error-free transcript that you can submit to your clients with pride and confidence.
I proofread transcripts for Court Reporters for two reasons:
1. To relieve you of all stress as far as the perfection of your transcript.
2. I just LOVE this work.
This is my process:
I received an email request from you inquiring if I am available to proofread your transcript. I respond back to you in a timely manner that I am available and ask when do you need it back. I receive your transcript via email in PDF format. Using the iAnnotate, I am able to open the PDF file directly from your email. I proofread your transcript according to my training and your individual personal preference. I check for spelling, punctuation, formatting, word usage, homophones, content, and clarity. Corrections are made directly on the PDF copy of the transcript in red and yellow markings. I returned the PDF transcript back to you via email.
